The Goldstar FC Santa Coloma has taken another step in this competition and is already qualified for the semifinal of the Cup that will face Pas de la Casa, a second division team with clear aspirations to climb to the Andorran first division next season.
This last Sunday, January 22th, Goldstar faced another rival that stands out in the second division, Atlétic América, in the quarterfinals.
The team started with the usual 1-4-2-3-1 system, wanting to dominate the match from the start, although it was difficult to give speed and precision. We must highlight the strong wind that was blowing against and that was displacing the ball, preventing precise control at times and creating insecurity in the kicks.
A few minutes before the end of the first time, a clear penalty was called in favor of Goldstar for a foul committed on David Virgili, who was in charge of materializing it, raising the score to 0-1.
The second half begins with the wind in favor and an advantage on the scoreboard, an advantage that was extended in the 53rd minute after a strategic move by Mario Mourelo that scored 0-2.
A little quieter now, the team continued to maintain the superiority over the rival creating several dangerous chances that ran into the Atlétic América goalkeeper or the rival goal posts until near the end when Kilian Grant, after a spectacular action of dominance of the ball, scored the final 03 taking Goldstar FC Santa Coloma directly to the semifinals.
