Matchday 6 of the Andorran League that pitted us this week against U.E. Sant Julia, the Andorran classic.
The team came out with a 1-4-2-3-1 system with a clear idea of dominating the possession of the ball and tiring the rival to find space on the wing.
Gold Star began with good minutes of play and long possessions that managed to create several clear chances such as the one of Miguel Ángel Gómez who was able to stop the rival team’s goalkeeper.
In the 30th minute, Kilian Grant opened the scoring with a header after a very good cross from Mario Mourelo.
U.E. Sant Julià, who, until now, had not had clear chances, tied in the 40th minute thanks to a defensive mistake by Gold Star that they knew how to take advantage of and that led to halftime with a 1-1 score.
In the second half the team went for the victory and in the 60th minute Eloy Gila used a rebound by the goalkeeper to make the final 1-2. The U.E. Sant Julià didn’t give up and kept looking for a draw but Gold Star kept the advantage and won the difficult matchup.
For the next game, Gold Star will be without Kilian Grant as he was sanctioned for a double yellow card and are still waiting to recover some of the other players from injury like David Virgili. The team thus added 3 points and remains undefeated after 6 league matches.
