Intense semifinal of the Protecvall Constitution Cup with a favorable ending for Goldstar FC Santa Coloma that turned out to be more affordable than expected after the stoppage of matches by the National teams competitions and the 2 games that had to be played in a week.
The team came out focused with the usual line-up, although the coach left some players who are normally in the starting eleven on the bench, and in minute 2 they already enjoyed a double chance thanks to a header from Cristian Novoa that the goalkeeper of the rival team stopped and sent to a corner, a corner that also generated another clear opportunity.
The match continued with Goldstar’s effective possession and with a fairly closed Pas de la Casa, without giving up spaces and playing very defensively with a 5-4-1 formation until the first goal came from a direct free kick by Miguel Angel Gómez in minute 28. Despite the superiority in the following minutes, this score reached at halftime, leaving a game still very open for the next 45 minutes.
In the second half, when Santa Coloma scored the 2nd goal, made by Cristian Novoa in the 59th minute, the rival had to open up a bit and made changes, a moment that they took advantage of to finish off the game with the 3rd and 4th goal scored by David Virgili in an action where after the goalkeeper’s shot and rebound, the player intercepted the ball again, surprising the rival in the 73rd minute and before the end. After, in the 83rd minute, Marc Rebés scored the last goal.
The Pas de la Casa noticed the physical exhaustion especially in the second part which facilitated the good play of Goldstar.
Cheryschev’s men thus qualify for the Cup final that they will play against Inter de Escaldes on the last weekend of May and which gives a direct place for the Conference League.
